A FREE EVENT FOR THE FAMILY THAT IS DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE

The River Dreaming Festival is now in its final stages of production with a large workshop set up in the Cattle Pavilion at the Bathurst Showground where resident artists Jyllie Jackson and Sean Manners are supervising volunteers and artists in the completion of the large puppet lanterns and props.

The festival program includes two stages of live bands, folk, blues and hip hop, koori singers and songwriters, dancers, Wiradjuri cultural workshops, kids activities, tree planting, poets, story tellers, the elders tent, river stalls, exotic food stalls, and the gold coin River Dreaming fund-raising BBQ. these are just some of the activities included in this family day festival program culminating in the spectacular lantern performance at twilight (8pm).

Don't miss what promises to be an awesome festival that has been pulled together by a dedicated team of volunteers and supported by the Bathurst business community. The festival is based on a series of community building workshops held in the Bathurst community since the beginning of this year and supported by the Kelso aboriginal community. Some of these workshops include lantern making, banner making, shadow puppets, drumming, badge making, dance and hip hop. These workshops continue up until the night before the event.
